My mechanic in Reno swore my brakes were fine, then I drove to Tahoe
Took my car to a guy named Sal off Wells Ave back in April for a weird grinding noise. He looked at it for 10 minutes, said it was just dust, and charged me $0, told me to come back if it got worse. Two days later I'm coming down the mountain and the pedal goes straight to the floor. Turns out a caliper was seized the whole time. How do you all handle it when a free opinion ends up costing you way more than the paid one would have?
Would you rather a guy charge you 100 bucks to poke around and guess wrong anyway? Free advice is just a guess that costs you nothing up front, so you can't really put the whole mess on Sal.
