Just hit 100,000 miles on my personal car and it caught me off guard

I was sitting in the parking lot after my shift last Tuesday and noticed the odometer rolling over to 100,000. That number stopped me cold because I bought this car brand new back in 2014 with only 7 miles on it. It's a plain old Toyota Corolla, nothing special, but we've been through a lot together - rain, road trips, and even that time I slept in it for three nights when I was between apartments. Has anyone else had a moment where a simple number like that made you stop and think about how much time has passed?

Man that hit me right in the gut when I read it. I had almost the exact same thing happen with my 2012 Honda Civic a couple years back at 150k. It's weird how a random number on a dashboard can just stop you cold and make you realize how much living you've done in that car. Yours being a Corolla too means it's probably got another 100k easy in it if you take care of it lol. Those little Toyotas just keep going and keep collecting memories along the way.

@kimr10 gotta disagree a little here. Random numbers do carry weight when you've been through a lot with those cars. But the real gut punch is when the engine finally gives out, not the odometer rollover. That Corolla will run fine for another 100k like you said, so the memories just keep stacking up no matter what's on the dash.
