I used to look up everything on Yahoo Answers back in 2008
Back then I'd ask stuff like how to fix a bike chain and get an answer from some guy in Ohio within an hour. Now I just ask my neighbor or check a YouTube video from a kid who works at a shop. Anyone else feel like the old forums just got swallowed up by everything moving too fast?

Yeah, the "some guy from Ohio within an hour" part really hit me. That was the magic of those old forums. In my experience, a lot of those Yahoo Answers threads got deleted or just buried when they changed the site, which is a shame. YouTube has been my go-to too, but I still miss the weird, specific charm of getting a bike chain fix from some random dude who actually did it in his garage. It felt more real, you know?

Totally agree, that garage fix vibe is something YouTube just can't replicate.
