I think the whole 'you should never work out on an empty stomach' thing is backwards

Look, I know all the fitness influencers say you need a pre-workout snack or you'll waste muscle. But I started doing fasted runs about 6 months ago because I kept getting nauseous eating before a 5am jog. Within 3 weeks I noticed my pace getting faster and I wasn't hitting that wall halfway through. My buddy actually had a nutritionist tell him the science backs it for fat burning in moderate cardio. But I'm still careful about lifting heavy - I'll have a banana if I'm doing squats. Has anyone else experimented with fasted morning workouts and actually seen better results than when they ate first?

Feel you on this, I switched to fasted runs too and it made a huge difference for me.

Running on empty just feels cleaner and more natural somehow, doesn't it?
