Heard a kid ask 'why do we park in driveways and drive on parkways' and I actually looked it up

My neighbor's 8 year old asked this at a BBQ last weekend and it stopped me cold. I mean, it's such a dumb simple question but I had no answer. So I actually got curious and spent like 20 minutes looking it up that night. Turns out 'parkway' comes from old times when roads went through parks, and 'driveway' is literally just the road you drive on to get to your house. But the funniest part is that the kid's dad just said 'that's a good question buddy' and moved on. Has anyone else had a moment like that where a kid accidentally made you question something totally normal?

Oh man, so basically English is just messing with kids for fun, right?

Parkways were actually designed for scenic drives through parks, not for parking...
