Flipped my opinion on vinyl plank after a 900 sq ft fail

I used to push back on anyone who said LVP was better than laminate for basements. Then last month I did a job in Everett where the subfloor had a high spot I didn't catch, and the planks started clicking and separating by day two. The homeowner showed me a video of the seam popping up and I had to eat the labor cost to redo it with a self-leveler. Now I check every floor with a 6 foot level before I lay a single row, and I'm actually telling clients to consider it over wood in damp areas. Has anyone else had a product switch forced on them by a bad install?
