Finally figured out why my garden soil stayed soggy after 3 years
Watched a master gardener at the county fair demo in Boise test drainage with just a tin can and a stopwatch, now my raised beds dry out in 4 hours instead of 2 days, has anyone else tried the percolation test before planting?

The tin can trick is honestly a game changer, I was shocked how easy it was. Just dig a hole, fill it with water, and time how long it takes to drain, best 5 minutes I ever spent in the yard. My beds went from swamp to perfectly moist in about a week after I amended the soil based on the results.
