Blew $200 on a fancy espresso machine attachment, turns out my $20 frother works just as good

Bought one of those pressurized basket gadgets for my Gaggia last month because I thought it would finally give me that cafe crema. Used it twice. Muddy mess. Went back to my old cheap handheld frother and honestly my morning latte tastes the same. Anyone else drop cash on coffee gear that made zero difference?

Felt this hard. Dropped $80 on a fancy tamper because the internet swore it would fix my channeling issues. My old plastic one from the starter kit does the exact same job and I can't taste any difference in the cup. Coffee gear marketing is basically just convincing us we're missing some magic upgrade.

Spent $150 on a bottomless portafilter for my machine. Thought it'd make me feel like a real barista. Nope. Just made a sticky mess on my counter. The $10 pressurized basket does the same thing.

Heard my buddy ranting about the same thing @lilykelly, he spent like $200 on a bottomless and the first week was just coffee all over his counter. Now it's just sitting in his cupboard collecting dust while he uses the one that came with the machine lmao.
