Warning: Found a Roman coin in my backyard in York, then went 4 months without a single find
Back in March I pulled a silver denarius out of a flower bed behind my flat in York, my first real find after two years of digging. I figured I finally cracked the code and hit the same spot every weekend until July, finding nothing but bottle caps and a rusty nail. Is it normal for one good find to be pure luck, or is there something about how the soil turns over that I'm missing?
