That site supervisor's note about my trowel marks changed my whole excavation routine

After 2 weeks at the Meridian site, my supervisor wrote 'stop scraping like a sous chef' on my log sheet, and I realized I was smearing the stratigraphy. I switched to a slower, angled pull and suddenly the feature outlines popped, has anyone else had to unlearn a bad trowel habit this late?

Guessing the sous chef thing was a joke, right? If your stratigraphy was actually getting smeared, that's a real issue, but I doubt one note means you had it all wrong. Maybe the supervisor was just having a mood that day, and you overcorrected your whole process for nothing.
