Stop calling every old pot a cooking vessel without checking the residue first

A guy in our local archaeology group last month swore his 2000 year old bowl was for stew but the lab found opium traces, so how many of these 'common kitchen items' are actually ritual or medicinal and were just assuming based on shape?

Opium in a bowl? That's wild, I would not have guessed that in a million years.

Shape bias is real but people also overlook how often a bowl is just a bowl.
