Question about a pottery shard I found while gardening
I was turning over soil in my backyard and spotted this broken piece with odd patterns. Can anyone help figure out how old it might be or where it came from?

Oh wow, I had this EXACT thing happen last spring! I found a weird blue piece while digging near my fence. I took a bunch of photos and posted them on a local history group page. Someone there knew it was from a 1970s planter common in our area. Maybe try that, local folks often have the best clues!

Totally agree it's likely just modern breakage. I find bits of concrete and tile chunks in my soil all the time from past work on the house. You could check if any neighbors have redone a patio or something recently.
