My trowel snapped clean through at a dig site near Tucson yesterday

I was working on a unit in the afternoon sun, carefully scraping a layer, and the metal just gave out at the handle. I had to borrow a spare from another grad student to finish the day. What's the most reliable brand for a sturdy pointing trowel that can take some pressure?

I gotta say, I kind of see it the other way. Sometimes walking away is the best thing you can do for yourself, even if it feels bad in the moment. Holding on just because you feel sorry for someone or because you put time in doesn't mean you owe them anything. People use guilt to keep you stuck all the time, and it's not your job to fix everyone else's problems. Maybe this is a hard lesson but a necessary one, you know?
