Eight hours on a single shard? That is a whole new level of dedication. My brain would have turned to mush after the first hour of cross-referencing messy records. You must have the patience of a saint to stick with it that long. I really hope you found the right layer after all that work. That kind of detail is so important but man, it sounds like a tough day.
