Just got back from Mesa Verde and I'm worried about the wear on those cliff dwelling paths

I was out there last month and walked the Balcony House trail. The sandstone steps are getting slick and worn down from way more foot traffic than they were designed for. I counted at least 3 spots where the handrail bolts are loose in the rock. Is anyone else noticing this kind of damage at other Puebloan sites?

Oh man, I actually gotta disagree with you there! I walked that same trail last week and thought they've done a solid job maintaining it compared to how rough it was a few years ago.

Aw geez, you really think it's worth getting worked up over trail maintenance? It's just a dirt path, not like they're fixing a highway or something.
