Used a new climbing line on a big oak removal and it felt wrong

I was taking down a 90-foot pin oak in Fairfax yesterday with a 12mm line I hadn't used before. The rope had almost no stretch, so my usual limb walking rhythm was completely off and I felt every shock load directly. My ground guy said I looked 'jumpy' up there. Has anyone else had to totally readjust their climbing style because of a rope's feel? I'm thinking I need to stick with what I know for big removals.

New ropes can be a pain to get used to, but that stiffness @the_cameron mentioned can actually help with control once you're dialed in. It just takes a climb or two to trust it.

Ever think about how the rope's stiffness changes your saw work? I had a line that felt like a steel cable once, and my handsaw kept bouncing on the backstroke during undercuts. Felt like I was fighting the rope instead of the wood. Made my precision cuts feel sloppy.

Heard a buddy say a stiff rope once threw his whole balance off.
