That crane job in Portland changed my whole rigging setup

Last summer I was on a big removal in Portland where a 60-foot maple had to come down between two houses. The crane operator said my rope angles were off and showed me a different block placement that made the whole lift way smoother. Has anyone else had a crane op teach them something that changed how you rig?

Man, that's the kind of thing that sticks with you. Good on that operator for taking the time to show you a better angle.

Remember that day like it was yesterday. Those little lessons from people who take the time to show you something stick with you forever. Had a guy at the hardware store explain how to properly use a torque wrench once, took maybe 5 minutes but saved me from stripping out my whole engine block later. It's not just about the tip itself, it's the fact that someone gave a crap enough to share their know-how. That kind of stuff builds trust and makes you want to pay it forward.
