Stump grinding feels like overkill for my property

Honestly, the standard advice to grind every stump after removal seems excessive to me. Tbh, I've kept a few older stumps on my land and they've become part of the landscape. Ngl, I've seen birds and bugs use them for shelter, which is pretty cool. Sure, people worry about looks or safety, but I just clear the area around them and let nature do its thing. I think instantly removing them ignores how they can help soil health over time. From my work, I've noticed stumps hold moisture and add organic stuff as they decay. Rushing to grind them out often costs more than it's worth in my view.

Used to think every stump needed grinding right away. Your post really made me rethink that. I started noticing the same thing with bugs and birds on my land. Letting them decay adds to the soil over time. Grinding can be a waste of money if there's no real need.

Learn from my mistakes, I used to grind stumps faster than I'd think through the choice.

Yeah, letting them decay is key. I left a few old ones and the soil got way better for my new plants.
