Spent $1200 on a new climbing rope system and it changed everything

Honestly, I used the same old rope and harness for like 15 years, just patching things up. Finally bit the bullet last fall and got a modern, lightweight system with a rope wrench. The difference in how my shoulders feel after a big removal is night and day. Tbh, I should have done it years ago. Anyone else put off a gear upgrade way too long and then been shocked by the difference?

Read something about how companies design stuff to fail sooner now. Makes you wonder if that's why nothing lasts like it used to.
