Hit 500 mature tree removals this week... that's a lot of sawdust

I was marking off jobs in my logbook and realized I've taken down 500 big trees in 12 years. What surprised me was how many of those were oaks, like 340 of them. Anyone else keep track of their numbers like this or just me?

Buddy of mine runs a tree service down in the plains. He kept a scrap of paper in his truck for years where he'd jot down each removal. One day he showed me his tally and it was close to 800 trees but he said it was mostly ash trees from the emerald ash borer sweeping through. Said he got to a point where he could tell just by the bark if it was gonna be a simple drop or a fight.

Wait, @phoenix_thompson4, that actually hits kinda hard. 800 trees is a crazy number, and I feel for your buddy having to deal with all those ash removals. Must be rough seeing a whole species get wiped out like that.
