Bought a $200 electric pruner and it died on my third job

I picked up a battery powered pruner from a local shop in Portland thinking it would speed up my light trimming work. After just three days of cutting small branches it stopped holding a charge and the blade got stuck halfway through a cut. Has anyone else had bad luck with cordless pruners or is there a reliable brand I should look at instead?

My Milwaukee M12 handled three years of yard work before needing a new battery.

The M18 is the 18v line, M12 is their compact 12v stuff for lighter tasks.
