A senior pentester told me my Burp macros were lazy writing, and he was right

Last month I was running through a test in Portland and kept hand-repeating the same token refresh in Burp, so I skimped on building proper macros. The senior on the call looked at my flow and said 'youre not testing the app, youre testing your patience' which hit harder than I expected. Has anyone else had a code review or red team lead call out a shortcut that made you rebuild your whole tooling setup?
