Visited a laundromat in Detroit last week and saw a washer from 1987 still running
I was in Detroit for a family thing and stopped at a laundromat on Grand River. There was this old Whirlpool washer from 1987 with a handwritten sign on it saying 'still runs better than the new ones.' The owner said he's only replaced the belt twice in 38 years. Anyone else find these older machines way easier to work on than the new computerized stuff?

Wait, is it weird that I kind of trust a 38-year-old machine with a handwritten note more than the ones with digital screens that need a tech guy to come fix them? That sign alone tells you everything about how honest that owner is.
