Used to hate putting dryers together... then a guy at the supply house showed me a trick

I always struggled getting those big dryer drums lined up right on the belt, took me like 20 minutes each time... This old timer at the parts counter in Tulsa told me to use a zip tie to hold the belt in place while I work the drum on. Tried it on a Samsung model yesterday and had it done in under five minutes. Has anyone else got a simple tip like that which cut their time way down?

Yeah man, that zip tie trick is gold, I do the same thing on those Samsung and LG models where the belt always wants to pop off while you're fighting the drum on. Saves me a good 15 minutes of cussing every time, so have you tried it with a small bungee around the motor pulley too?

Ain't that the truth with those Samsung drums, they're a pain. So with that zip tie trick, are you just running it through the belt loop and snugging it around the drum, or are you actually securing it to something else on the frame to keep tension? I've heard of guys using a bungee cord to pinch the belt to the idler pulley, but never a zip tie on the drum itself.
