TIL a zip tie can fix a noisy dishwasher pump in about 30 seconds
Had a customer in Des Moines last week complaining about a grinding noise during the drain cycle on her old Whirlpool. I was about to order a new pump assembly, but decided to check if something was loose first, and a single zip tie holding the motor mount in place fixed the whole thing. Anyone else ever dodged an expensive repair with something that simple?

$300 later I still had to call a repair guy out for mine. @margaret_gonzalez25 I've seen that fix work for some people but my grinding turned out to be a busted impeller that a zip tie couldn't touch. Those quick fixes can buy you time but they don't always get to the real problem underneath. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and replace the part that's actually broken.

Yo did your friend try the zip tie trick on their dishwasher? My buddy had the same grinding issue on his Maytag and a buddy told him to do that. Worked like a charm and saved him from buying a new pump.
