Had a Tuesday last month that almost made me quit the trade
I was in Appleton fixing a Samsung fridge that kept throwing a temp sensor error. Replaced the sensor, still bad. Then the compressor wouldn't kick on. Three hours in I find a chewed wire behind the back panel from a mouse. Customer said they never saw any mice. That one job ate up my whole morning and pushed back 2 other calls. Has anyone else had a single repair spiral into a nightmare like that?

Found a mouse nest in a dryer once, full of stolen socks.

Three years ago I found nine socks in a mouse nest behind a customer's fridge. Two of them were matching pairs from different people in the house. The family had been blaming each other for losing socks for months. It turned into this whole awkward conversation at the end of the job.

Wait, stolen socks? Like the mouse actually took them into the nest? That's wild. I had a call once where a squirrel had gotten into a wall unit and packed it full of acorns and insulation, took me forever to figure out why the fan kept locking up. This job was already a nightmare with the chewed wire, I don't think I could handle finding someone's missing laundry in a dryer on top of it.
