Had a run of three Samsung washer door lock failures in one day last week

It was a Tuesday, and all three calls were for the same model (WF45R6100AP) with the exact same symptom (the door wouldn't lock for the cycle). Each one was in a different part of town, too. I keep that DC96-00887A lock assembly in my truck now, but I've never gone through three in a single shift before. Has anyone else seen a weird spike with a specific part like that, or was it just my weird luck?

Yeah, that exact thing happened to me with a different Samsung model last year. I started keeping two of the common door lock boards in my van after the second same-day call. It's never a bad idea to stock up when you see a pattern like that, even if it's just a weird coincidence. I figure some production batches just have a weak part that all fails around the same time. Saves a ton of time on the call when you already have the fix ready to go.

My buddy at the supply house told me they had a whole pallet of those LG compressor boards go bad from one factory code. @luna824 is totally right about production batches. He said they started seeing the returns spike about 18 months after the units shipped, like clockwork. Smart move keeping those boards on hand.

Honestly that's way smarter than what I did. I had three of the same dishwasher pump go out in a week and still didn't stock up. Tbh my van was just a rolling graveyard of broken parts I kept meaning to return. Finally learned my lesson after the fourth trip back to the supplier in one month. Ngl it took me way too long to connect those dots.
