Found a 30 year old compressor still humming in a diner near Dayton

Was swapping out a condenser fan motor at a local diner yesterday and noticed their old Kelvinator fridge still running the original compressor. Pulled the panel to check and the thing was barely warm, pulling 4 amps on a hot afternoon. Anyone else run into old workhorses like this that just refuse to quit?

Had a similar situation with an old fridge in a gas station @kelly385, that thing ran forever with zero issues.

Gotta respectfully disagree on this one. Those old Kelvinator compressors are actually pretty inefficient compared to modern stuff. 4 amps is way too high for a fridge that size, a newer one would pull half that and cool better too. Plus that old refrigerant is terrible for the environment if it ever leaks.
