Why does nobody tell you to check the plumber's license number on the state website first
Hired a guy to fix a slab leak in my rental near Eubank and Central three weeks ago, and he wanted $400 up front for parts. I got a weird feeling and plugged his name into the state licensing board site, and he popped up as suspended since January. The part that bugs me is he had a truck, magnets, and a branded shirt, so nothing looked off until I looked it up. Two neighbors on my street used him too and are now out $700 combined with no work done. Takes about 2 minutes on your phone and it saved me a lot more than that. Do you all check the license before or after you get the estimate?
