Trusted that $79 'same day' plumber ad, ended up waiting 5 hours at a gas station in Rio Rancho
The listing said arrive by 9am and my bathroom sink was basically a waterfall. Guy finally shows up at 2pm with no parts and tells me to just grab a wrench at Lowe's, so I did it myself in 20 minutes. Anyone else had luck with those cheap emergency service ads or is it always a gamble?

Rio Rancho is rough for that stuff because half the "local" listings are call centers routing to whoever answers. Next time ask the dispatcher for the tech's name and license number before you book, and if they can't give it, hang up. A real shop will tell you straight up if they're slammed and give you a window they can actually hit.
