Drove past 4 chain shops to try the little notary office on Central, saved myself $37 and a headache
Had to get a bunch of papers notarized for a house thing and I was about to just hit the UPS Store near me on San Mateo because it's easy and I know where it is. Then my neighbor mentions this tiny notary spot in a strip mall off Central, near the old laundromat, been there like 20 years, guy does it out of a little office with a coffee maker and a radio. I figured whatever, how different can it be. Chain place quoted me $10 per signature plus a travel fee, and the guy on Central charged me a flat $25 for the whole stack, like 11 pages, and threw in copies for free. He even caught that one of my forms needed a second witness signature and called his wife from the back to come sign it so I wouldn't have to drive back across town. Took maybe 20 minutes total and I was out. It got me thinking about how fast I default to the big name places just because I assume local spots will be slow or sketchy. Has anyone else here got a small local service they use instead of the big chain spots, and was it worth it?
