Dropped $340 on a "same day" garage door repair in Albuquerque and got played
My garage spring snapped on a Saturday morning and I couldn't get my truck out, so I did the dumb panic thing and called the first shop that came up on a search ad. They quoted me $340 over the phone, showed up in 40 minutes, and were done in 25, which felt great until the door started screeching two weeks later. Turns out they used a cheap spring that was the wrong size and refused to honor any kind of warranty because I paid cash. Ended up paying a second company $210 to redo the whole thing right, so I basically lit $340 on fire for a band aid. I get that I paid for speed, but charging that much and then ghosting on the warranty is a racket. Anyone got a garage door person in town who actually stands behind their work, or am I just supposed to learn how to swap springs myself?
