Warning: I thought those new wireless glass break sensors were just a gimmick.
A client in Phoenix insisted on them for a big retrofit job last spring, and I was sure they'd be a headache. We put in six of them, and after three months, not a single false alarm even with their loud AC unit. The installer app actually showed the exact frequency pattern it caught from a test break. Has anyone else had a good run with these, or did I just get lucky?

Oh man, my buddy had the same thing happen. His dog barks like crazy and sets off everything, but those new sensors never go off. He's had them for like five months now, no problems.

Yeah, that bit about the app showing the exact frequency pattern is wild. I saw a tech deep dive on a forum that said the new ones are way better at filtering out common noise like slamming doors or pots and pans. They basically learned from all the old crappy ones. Your three month run in Phoenix with that AC going sounds legit, not just luck.

Actually the frequency pattern thing is a bit overhyped. The app shows a simplified graph, not the raw audio data. I read the same forum post and the guy later clarified it's mostly marketing. They do filter common noises better now, but it's not some magic learning from old units. It's just better microphones and basic software rules. My AC test was solid, but the real test is a dog barking right next to it.
