Update: I called zone doubling a hack for 2 years, ran it on a 16 zone panel in Omaha and now I owe my supplier an apology
When my supplier pitched zone doubling for a 16 zone job, I laughed and said it was a trick for cheap builders who won't buy a bigger can. I ran it anyway last month on a two story in Omaha because the homeowner did not want a second keypad or a panel swap, and it saved me a full day of fishing wire through finished walls. Each zone reports fine, the resistors read clean, and my multimeter was steady on all 8 doubled pairs through two walk tests. That said, I still would not run it on a smoke circuit or anywhere the client plans to add sensors later. Anyone here running it on a full house and how did it hold up after a couple winters?
