Unpopular take: using wireless sensors everywhere is overrated.
I switched a 12-zone install in Denver from wireless to all hardwired last month and the response time dropped by almost half. People complain about running wire but I'd rather drill 10 holes than replace 6 batteries a year.

You're totally missing the biggest upside though - wireless means you can actually move things around when you need to. I've got a buddy who runs a small security outfit and he swears by wireless for rentals because landlords change the layout every few years. Hardwiring a whole place is a nightmare if walls get moved or someone decides to finish the basement. Plus those battery swaps take maybe 10 minutes once a year, big deal. The response time difference is barely noticeable in real world situations unless you're like a bank vault. Different tools for different jobs, you know?

Battery swaps being once a year is fine until you get hit with a polar vortex and those lithium cells drain in half the time. I had a buddy who ran a bunch of wireless cams at a cabin up north and every January he'd be out there swapping batteries in the snow because the cold killed them in like 3 months. Plus nobody ever talks about interference - if you've got a dozen wifi cams all fighting for airtime in a metal building with concrete walls, that connection is gonna drop at the worst possible moment. Hardwire doesn't have that problem.
