Swapped out one door contact type and cut my service callbacks in half

I was using the standard 1/4 inch recessed contacts from the supply house, kept getting false alarms after 4 months. Switched to the heavier duty 5/8 inch ones with the metal sleeve, been 6 months now and zero callbacks. Anyone else see a big difference with contact depth on metal doors?

Are those the ones with the metal sleeve that sits flush against the door frame, or are you still using the plastic ones?

Replaced mine last month like @finley729 and wow, that metal sleeve really makes a difference.

My door frame had that ugly gap for like two years before I finally swapped it out. I got one from my local hardware store, it was maybe 12 bucks and came in a plain brown box. The metal sleeve sits so tight against the frame you can barely see it, like it was made for that exact spot. I had to tap it in with a rubber mallet a little but it went in smooth and hasn't budged since. No more drafts or that weird rattling sound when the wind picks up, honestly wish I did it way sooner.
