Spent 4 hours chasing a false alarm on a DSC panel before realizing it was a spider web in the motion detector
A tiny spider web was catching the IR beam just right at night, took me forever to figure out why the zone kept tripping randomly around 2am. Anyone else have a pest cause a phantom zone?

Heard a story from a buddy who had a similar issue. A mouse had chewed through some wiring in his attic and it was causing intermittent shorts on his alarm panel. Took him three visits from a tech to finally spot it. Little critters can really mess with these systems in ways you'd never expect.
