My shed is full of old alarm system parts I can't throw away
I was sorting through some junk and saw a pile of outdated sensors and panels. It took me back to when installations took all day because of the wiring. These days, I hook them up to a basic board for fun projects. The contrast between then and now is always on my mind. It's a good way to relax after a week of work.

My garage has a bin of PIR motion sensors I swore I'd use for a Halloween display last year. They're still there (I got distracted trying to make a stupid pumpkin rotate). I completely get turning old work gear into a hobby, even if my projects end up half-finished.
