I keep seeing guys skip the walk test on glass break sensors and it's a huge mistake
Last month in a big house job, I put in 6 of them and the owner called back saying the alarm went off for no reason. I went back and did a proper walk test with a glass break simulator, turns out one sensor was picking up the AC unit kicking on from the next room. If I had tested it right the first time, I would have moved it 3 feet and saved us both the trip. How many of you actually use a tester on every single glass break install?

Skipping the walk test is like installing a smoke detector and never checking if it smells smoke. That AC unit story is a classic. I bet that customer thought his house was haunted by a very specific ghost that only hates HVAC systems. I use the tester every single time because my time is worth more than a free callback to listen to a fridge hum.

Ever wonder if my ghost just hates me?

Haha @wesley_martin is onto something though, maybe my ghost is just really passive-aggressive about my life choices. Like it's haunting me but only to judge my Netflix queue and leave the thermostat on 68 just to spite me.
