I finally ditched wireless contacts for hardwired on a 3 story house

Did a retrofit job in Portland last month, 12,000 square feet, and the client insisted on wireless everything. After three false alarms and one dead battery in a ceiling void that took me an hour to fish out, I convinced them to let me hardwire the main floor. Night and day difference. The response time is instant, no supervision issues, and I can actually test zones without climbing a ladder with a magnet. Yeah it took an extra day of fishing wires through finished walls, but the panel logs are clean and the customer stopped calling me at 2am. Anyone else find that hardwired still beats wireless on bigger commercial-resi jobs, or am I just old school?

Honestly, that sounds like more about the customer being a pain than the tech itself. I’ve seen wireless systems hold up fine on big jobs if you actually plan the placement and check the batteries on a schedule. Tbh, one bad install doesn’t make the whole thing useless, it just means you got unlucky with the guy who put it in.
