Had a drill battery die mid-install at a house in Tacoma last Tuesday
I was halfway through mounting a panel in a customer's basement and my trusty 18v just gave up. No backup battery on me, and the job site was a 30 minute drive from my van. Ended up using a manual screwdriver for the last 8 screws, took forever but got it done. Customer watched from the stairs the whole time, probably thought I was a hack lol. Any of you guys carry a spare battery everywhere or am I the only one who learned this the hard way?

Ha! Oh man, I've been there way too many times! I swear my old drill knew exactly when to quit on me, right in the middle of the worst possible spot. Now I've got three batteries and I still manage to forget them at home somehow. That customer watching from the stairs is the worst part though, just standing there while you're twisting screws by hand like it's 1920. You're definitely not alone in learning this the hard way buddy!

Ha, "my old drill knew exactly when to quit on me" - that got me laughing man because it's so true. I had this one Craftsman that would just die the second I needed it most, like it had some kind of sixth sense for bad timing. One time I was up on a ladder trimming some trim, battery dies, and I'm stuck there fumbling with a screwdriver while the homeowner's dog is barking at me nonstop. Now I've got like four batteries but I swear they all run out at the exact same moment, like they're conspiring against me. The worst is when you have to walk past that customer to grab another battery and they give you that look, like you're some amateur who can't even keep a tool charged. I feel your pain buddy, we've all been there more times than I'd like to admit.

Saw my buddy get stranded on a roof with a dead saw once. Brutal.
