Got a call from a client in Springfield after their keypad started beeping nonstop at 2 AM.
Turns out their backup battery was so old it swelled and shorted the main board, so I had to do a full swap on site with a new DSC Neo panel and explain the 5-year replacement rule to stop it happening again, anyone else run into this with older systems?

My buddy had a similar mess with an old Vista panel. The backup battery leaked acid all over the circuit board. He ended up replacing the whole unit just like you did.
