Old timers know stuff they don't teach in books. Keep your pressure drops low and let the zones breathe.

I mean, is it really that serious? Like, maybe I'm just not running high enough loads or something, but I've seen plenty of systems with moderate pressure drops that work just fine. The whole "let the zones breathe" thing sounds more like something my grandpa would say about his tomato plants than actual HVAC advice. I get that old school guys have their tricks, but sometimes they act like one wrong psi will blow the whole house apart.
