TIL a supervisor's one sentence about torque wrenches saved my calendar

My lead at the hangar in Phoenix told me I was 'overthinking the nut, not the bolt' after I spent 40 minutes chasing a stripped thread on an A320 flap track. I switched to a fresh fastener and a calibrated wrench from the tool crib, and it seated in like 5 minutes. Anyone else had a boss drop a line that made you slap your own forehead?
