Swore by standard torque wrenches for 12 years till a digital one saved my butt on a 737 flap track last month

I was always that guy saying digital torque wrenches are overpriced and fragile, but after snapping a bolt on a critical fitting with my clicker I borrowed a Snap-on digital from a coworker and it caught the exact ft-lbs real time. Anyone else have a tool they resisted forever that ended up bailing them out?

And heres something else nobody really talks about with these digital wrenches. Theyre not just about saving bolts. I was working on a gearbox mount once and the digital showed me the torque curve was all wrong because the bolt was cross threaded just a tiny bit. A clicker would have clicked at the right number and Id have ruined that hole. The real time feedback caught it before I even got to full torque. So its not just about accuracy. Its about the data you get along the way that tells you something isnt right before you break it.

Had the same exact thing happen with a clicker on a critical bolt. Digital saved me too.
