Overheard a pilot call a loose rivet 'just a little shimmy'

Honestly, I was doing a walkaround on a Cessna 172 last Tuesday and the pilot was chatting with his buddy. He pointed at a panel and said, 'Oh that? It's just got a little shimmy, it's fine.' Tbh, it was a row of three loose rivets. Ngl, it made me think about how we describe problems versus how pilots might. Has anyone else had a client downplay something that was clearly a write-up?

Yeah, that's a classic! They have a whole different dictionary for problems. Makes you wonder what else gets called a "shimmy.

Pilots know what actually matters for flight.

But what about the engineers who build the planes?
