I used to fight with old wire bundles for hours before I got a cheap tool

Back when I was at a regional shop in Omaha, we'd spend a whole morning just trying to separate and trace wires in a tight avionics bay. We used picks and our fingers, and it was a real pain. About two years ago, a guy showed me a plastic wire comb he got for maybe 12 bucks from an electronics supplier. Now I use it for any harness work. It slides between the wires without nicking the insulation and saves so much time. Has anyone else found a simple tool that changed a routine job for them?

Cheap tools often solve the biggest headaches.

Oh man, tell me about it. I've wasted so much time trying to make the "good" tool work when a five dollar thing from the hardware store would have done it in two minutes.

Honestly, @shane655 is right about cheap tools fixing big problems. It's like that with so many little things, you overthink it when the simple fix is right there.
