I finally switched to a torque-limiting adapter for those stubborn 737NG cowl latches.
Used to fight them for 20 minutes, now it's a 5 minute job. Got the Snap-on TLA72 after a guy at the hangar in Tulsa swore by it. Anyone else have a go-to tool for a job that used to be a huge pain?

Oh man, that's a great point about the mental load. Like @charlie_ellis said, you put up with the hard way forever. But it's not just the time, it's the stress of knowing you're about to wrestle a stupid latch. Getting the right tool just makes the whole day feel smoother, you know? You start the job calm instead of already annoyed.

The real win is not having to explain a busted knuckle to the crew chief. That adapter probably pays for itself just in saved band-aids and excuses. Sometimes the right tool is just a peace treaty with the airplane.

Honestly, that's a solid upgrade right there. Tbh, those latches are the worst. We had a similar thing with some old panel fasteners on a different type. Switched to a low-profile ratchet head and it was a total game changer. Just makes you wonder why you put up with the hard way for so long.
