Hit 15,000 rivets put in with my own hands last week

Thats counting every bucked rivet Ive done since I started in 2011. Never kept track until I saw the tally on a job card and it just kinda hit me how many hours that actually is. Anyone else surprised by a number like that when you finally add it up?

Honestly, that's wild to think about. I remember reading somewhere that it takes something like 30,000 to 60,000 rivets to build a single large aircraft from scratch, so 15,000 is basically half a plane's worth of work. That's a lot of hammer swings and sore arms. Ngl, when you just see the number on a job card it's easy to gloss over it, but adding it up for a decade really puts the physical labor into perspective.

@robinj29 my dad always said rivets were just really stubborn buttons.
