Had a chat with an old IA in Phoenix that flipped my take on torque wrenches

Was out at the hangar in Mesa last week and this guy with 30 years on me says he never trusts a digital torque wrench past 6 months without a calibration check. I always thought the cheap click types were the sketchy ones, but he showed me a Snap-On that was off by 14% after a year of heavy use. Makes me wonder how many of my jobs have been riding on bad numbers. Anyone else ever bother with sending theirs out on a schedule, or am I just paranoid now?
